IMPLEMENTATION OF OREGANO EXTRACT APPLIED VIA DRENCH FOR THE PREVENTION OF (Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. lycopersici) TO TOMATO CULTIVATION IN IPALA.
SUMMARY
The Degree Project was carried out in Ipala, Chiquimula, Guatemala. The main objective was to implement oregano extract preventively against Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. lycopersici in tomato cultivation (Solanum lycopersicum). A botanical product based on oregano extract developed and marketed by the company Sylva Extracts was used.
The observations began to be made in 2021, from 2022 onwards monitoring and analysis of the plantation were carried out, increasing the visit in the months of January, February and March, where 4 monitoring was carried out in the different applications with intervals of 15 days. The indicators and means of verification analyzed were: the incidence of the fungus and an economic analysis. Among the results obtained, there are 2 plants with incidence and a benefit-cost ratio of 1.31 (income/cost), it was determined that there is a preventive control due to the static fungal character of the product in preventing the development of the mycelium of the fungus and a significant difference in its benefit-cost ratio.
Therefore, it is recommended to continue carrying out projects based on the use of botanical products, whose purpose is to protect living microorganisms and preserve the ecosystem, since microorganisms and the environment are of great importance in agriculture in our country and around the world, in addition to reducing the use of chemical products that cause serious damage to human health.
